WHY I'M REACHING OUT TO YOU

If you're seeing this website in its current state, that means I (Todd Hapgood) or my team more than likely reached out to you personally. The first thing I'd like to say is thank you for taking the time to review and consider our proposal.

Hapgood Talent was created to fill a void in the knowledge market. A talent agency for the knowledge market is essentially a speakers bureau, and most speakers bureaus are glorified online catalogs. Sure, some are great, but the likelyhood of a public figure being a member of a speakers bureau that has a person or team constantly pitching said person for offers is slim to none. Instead, they'll just add a price tag and a contact button next to your face and wait for people to find you. Sadly, much of the traffic is from the talent's own website directing to the speakers bureau, so what commission are they justifiably earning?

I firmly believe these speakers bureaus are too large to care about anybody outside of their top 1% of clients who charge six figures just to show up. These bureaus need their speakers more than their speakers need them, just the way we need our clients more than our clients need us. The difference between us and a large bureau is that we know this to be true and are hyper-aware of it at all times. I recognize how lucky and fortunate my team is to have the small but growing list of speakers that can choose to work with anyone they want. You are the authority, not us... we just want to show up and zealously help showcase your brand for a small commission.

Our list is growing and the moment we hit our initial goal, we'll adjust our commission rate and begin showcasing talent front and center. Whoever agrees to let us begin representing them non-exclusively before this website changes, will be locked in to the nominal comission-only fee detailed below.

Who We Are

We are a talent agency - not a speakers bureau - and there's a significant distinction between the two. Sure, you can be a member of a large bureau with hundreds, if not thousands of other speakers. But have you noticed what the average major speaking bureau does to showcase its "talent?" They add you to a long list of people that organizers can scroll through like a cattle auction, and most likely the heads of the bureau either don't know you exist or are doing absolutely nothing to share your message with the world... you're simply a member of their glorified catalog.

Hapgood Talent Group is the exact opposite. If you give us the opportunity to work with you, we'll be pitching your message and preferred format full-time behind the scenes by sending out your profile and fielding offers on your behalf. The Hapgood Talent team will be seeking and fielding offers with your best interest in mind, because we work on commission only with no upfront payment required, so you get paid first, we get paid second.

Why You Should Let Us Represent You

Non-exclusive

Being non-exclusive is a win for both parties. You have the option to seek paid gigs elsewhere without worrying about breaching your contract, while we are constantly aware that we're not the only fish in the pond. This serves as a constant reminder that we have to prove our value consistently to keep your partnership with us alive.

No Obligation, No risk

You won't transfer a dime to us until you're home from your engagement and paid by the organizer. There's no sign up fee because we're a commission only organization for this initial round of client acquisition. Our pricing model may change for future clients but you'll be locked in with our 10% commission agreement.

You Choose Your Format

Not everybody feels comfortable standing on stage and giving a talk with no other input, while some people prefer to have more of an interview approach to their public appearances. We'll make sure that we only offer you for formats you're comfortable with so you won't be blindsided during the event.

You set your fees, no limit

It's not about the price, it's about the value. You can tell us any number you want us to go to bat with when seeking paid gigs for you. If you have a range and we have a bit of room to negotiate, even better. Whatever fee, travel cost and per diem rate you give us is what we'll hold to when discussing your bookings with organizers.

Don't Sweat The Details

We are not your in-house counsel so we can only serve as a liason at this point in time, but after our initial discussion with you, we'll know what your requirements are from organizers. With this information, we can handle the bulk of communication at your direction while keeping you generally in the loop. We won't accept anything unless you give the go ahead.

You're not a catalog item

Hapgood Talent takes pride in the ability to sell our clients' presence because we're passionate about who we work with. The goal of our agency is not to become the biggest, but the best. Each person we reach out to is carefully selected for a reason and this is why we're so appreciative if you give us a chance to represent you. We take time to understand each client's message and goal so we can cater our outreach specifically to your vision.

**IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER**

As with most people in life, every client has their own set of values and perspectives based on their own lived experience. We do not select our clients based on their alignment with our opinions. Rather, we work with people from vastly different backgrounds, expertise and dispositions. Keeping that in mind, assuming one's personal views by associating any two speakers, podcasters or experts on this website is a futile endeavor to say the least. If any of our speakers feel uncomfortable being featured with any other person on this website, or under our management, they're more than welcome to drop us as an agency. Out of respect for everyone we represent, we won't be adjusting our client list to cater to any other client's views or opinions. Thank you for understanding.
